Book 1: The Sibylline Oracle

A nice introduction into the world of Greek Mythology.  The big figures such as Apollo and Zeus are intertwined at the beginning to pretty much set how the scene of the lives of the Oracles are today.

Valeria assumes she is a normal 26 year old human....until a handsome stranger saved her life from being knocked by car.  This started off a string of events that even she had trouble believing.....

Alex is immortal, and for 3,000 years has been waiting for the re-incarnation of Cassandra to be with her again.  Valeria is that reincarnation and is Alex's Symbolon - his true soul mate.

This book is basically the telling of how Alex and his Oracle "family" came to be, and who Valeria really is.  Valeria has a very normal (but boring and not very affectionate) fiance who is the stumbling block between Valeria and Alex being together.....

Can Valeria believe everything she's being told? Is she REALLY the reincarnation of Cassandra? How does she chose between her fiance and this handsome stranger who has her heart a flutter with a look?

Despite being based around Greek Mythology, its a light read, lots of romantic moments.  No strong language, i would suggest that a Young Adult might appreciate these as the Older adults do!

Book 2: The Symbolon

Starting with a happy beginning!

Alex and Valeria are set to wed.  Alex wants to make it official by going to the Council of Oracles for an approved immortal wedding.

All seems fine until a mysterious man catches Alex's attention and seems to keep doing so.

At the hearing just as they were to be announced official, the mysterious man objects.  He is the brother of the sister who was also an immortal and thereby voiding any other marriage, that Alex had married centuries before in an attempt to live some sort of life.  Little did he know it would be the barrier.

This objection means that Valeria has to leave.  She can never see Alex or the family she became to know as her own again - on punishment of death.

Paulo, the brother, offers to court her, twisting it to make it seem it the best idea for Valeria to get Alex back.

Paulo had actually married one of Valeria's previous reincarnations previously, Bella, and still loves her dearly.  But Valeria is broken.  She wants Alex and noone else....

Paulo suggests to a "fake" engagement to which would allow Alex and the family to at least to see Valeria that once.  She agrees......she passes test after test to prove she loves Paulo and once more she finds herself at the Council to get their engagement approved....

Can she trust Paulo? Is he really trying to help find her way back to Alex, or is he trying to make her his again?  Will the Council sense the truth?

The ending is a brilliant cliffhanger, with a will-they-wont-they ending - and a twist that makes it a great ending.....

And is Paulo's sister as far and as distant from the situation.....and is she as innocent in all this as Paulo makes out....?

I look forward to the next...
