Green For Robin Williams #fightforlifeandlive

When the news hit people on August 11th 2014 that Robin Williams had sadly passed, it was so unexpected and i was shocked...and saddened.  I knew he had problems with depression and struggled at times.  As a person who has depression the only thing i could think when i read it was "he must have been in such a dark, low place that he could see no way out of to do this".
I also thought it was sad that it took the death of a renowned funny, genuine and loved actor for the illness to be brought to light that it can be life threatening.

And the vile, venomous things people are writing about him make me very angry and sad.... Is this how the media view people with depression?? Try walking a mile....heck a day in a person who battles with it everyday, and then see what you can say of it.  I actually took a little of it personally, and i don't think I'm alone with that thought.  I really thought we'd moved forward in mental health awareness....sadly not everywhere....

Anyway, i don't have many greens in my collection as it generally doesn't suit me, but i chose these two Dollish Polishes as my way of remembrance....

I don't think this is a post for words.  Just a silent post to remember the man we've lost, and i hope is in peace and at ease with himself now...
Why green?

Don't think because an illness isn't blatantly obvious to you that its not there.....mental illness is one big daily fight, and no one chooses to have it....To give anything to NOT have it......

Rest in Peace Mr Williams.  I'm sorry you're gone, but you'll always be around through your great films and always think of you when we hear "Na Nu, Na Nu" and smile.

  1. I think we have a different colour here for mental health awareness but you're right, it rarely gets discussed until it's deemed newsworthy by the media. I've lost a few friends who just didn't get that thinking positive is a cure and don't understand that you can have clinical depression *and* a sense of humour in the same brain!

  2. Beautifully put. He will be missed x

  3. Great post!
