Elloras Cave

Centuries after what should have been a blessing from a goddess, Mira has gone from the chosen daughter to a woman shamed. She’s found a tentative peace among her family and the females they’ve chosen to mate. And despite the potentially fatal consequences, Mira has found the one thing she never thought she’d have—love. Josh is the only male she’s ever wanted, desired and burned for, and he’s the only man she can never hope to keep.

One glance into Mira’s exotic feline eyes and Josh is lost. She’s everything he never knew he wanted and loving her becomes a passion he can’t deny. The obstacles keeping them apart seem insurmountable, but Josh knows he’s the man Mira needs. With every passionate encounter, every stolen touch, his certainty that he and Mira belong together grows. He’ll defy every shifter decree and fight to his dying breath to convince those around them of the truth—Mira belongs to him, mind, body and soul.

With the door closed behind her, she kicked off her flats and tugged her shirt out of her pants. The scent of heaven drifted to her. A heartbeat reached her ears next and her pulse echoed in her mate bite.

He was sprawled on her couch, one leg bent on the seat, the other flat on the floor. With his back pressed into the corner and his arm stretched across the cushion, he looked relaxed and sexier than she’d ever seen him. The shadow of stubble she loved dusted his jaw and the ends of his hair stood on end as if he’d just woken. No shoes and his rumpled clothes suggested he might have.

The thought of Josh napping in her living room did crazy things to her heart. It didn’t take much to imagine spending hours wrapped in his arms on the couch while he watched football. Such a simple thing, but one she never thought to have with a male. She forced the domestic thought away before longings and regret took hold. Focusing on the picture he made, she let the details of this moment sear itself into her mind so she could take it out when she needed him close.

Jeans and another simple black tee molded his torso and teased her imagination. She flashed back to the image of his naked body. Powerful and primal with thick muscles, a narrow waist and a tight ass that felt so good under her hands as he drove his cock into her. Her attention dropped to the evidence of his arousal. Pushed slightly to the side, it thickened as she watched. Her knees went weak. Warmth settled low. She reached for the edge of the hall table before she could stop the reaction.

One corner of his mouth lifted in a lopsided smile. It hit her dead-center and left her raw, vulnerable and more aroused than the sight of a mere grin should make her.

“Hey, kitten, I was wondering when you were going to come home.” He slowly skimmed his heated gaze over her. She ignited under his perusal. Every inch of her skin heated and demanded he repeat the caress with his fingers. “I was getting lonely.”

She licked her suddenly dry lips. “How did you get in here?”
He chuckled. “I picked the lock.”

She waited for him to say something else, maybe close the distance between them. He did neither, only watched her.

Lust hazed his eyes but so did patience and confidence. He wore the look of a male who knew exactly how he affected his woman.

After another slow sweep of his hungry blue eyes that clenched her womb, she cleared her throat. “Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be home with Megan?”

“She’s with Jazz.” He crooked one finger. “Come here, kitten.”

Her breaths quickened. She took several steps before she forced herself to stop. Hands clenched, she shook her head. “I told you I need time to think, Josh. I haven’t yet. Please go home.”

Instead of arguing, he held his hand out, palm up. “Think later, kitten. We need each other. Come here.”

Books One and Two reviewed HERE

That's the first word that comes to mind.
Disappointment - because I've finished reading it!

For me, this was hands down the best of the series so far.

I was a little hesitant after Devlin's tale in the last book, bu i had nothing to fear.
This was a brilliantly written book, beautiful descriptions, captivating characters, and an extremely unusual storyline, which i couldn't get enough of.

I'm not going to write much about this as i don't want to spoil any secrets, but i will give you a general overview.

Josh is a human. He owns and runs the local bar and is guardian to Megan, a young shifter.  He also is a "beloved human" of Mira, a female royal shifter.  And he cant get his mind off her.

Mira, feels exactly the same way but according to Royal shifter laws, only the MEN are allowed to take human mates.
Mira has been the subject of a prophecy that states her cubs will herald a new dawn for the shifters.  Shes also been given a time limit by the Council to find a mate by the end of the month....
The suitors that came for her......held no chance whatsoever of getting Mira's heart.  But to be blunt, they didn't want that. They didn't care about Mira as a woman. They wanted to be involved in the prophecy.

One night locking the bar, Josh is stabbed fatally by a local hick.  He literally has the knife in him up to the hilt and guts spliced open.  Resigning to the fact he cant do anything, he lays, waiting to die.  Something weird happened when he lay there.  He was (in his mind) seeing a golden woman who said and did things that he cant get his head round......but he wakes up, alive, and with barely a scratch on his stomach.

The other shifters are trying to save his life by keeping him away from Mira - he has been pinpointed as a threat to be killed.  But they cant see what, of all people, Devlin finally admits to seeing....

I loved it.  I haven't read a book that i haven't wanted to put down in quite a while and i was worried id lost interest in reading...Ms Corrigan has rekindled it, and if you love your paranormal and with a lot of sizzling (and it IS sizzling - not seedy or unneeded sex) pages - you need to read this series!!
