SERIES REVIEWING: Vampire Hunter by Nikki Jefford

Aurora Sky vampire Hunter by Nikki Jefford (book 1)

If there is one thing eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky wants, it's to get off the iceberg she calls home. Being kissed before she graduates wouldn't hurt either. Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Government agents step in and save Aurora's life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter in Alaska. Basically she's a glorified chew toy. All thanks to her rare blood type which sends a vampire into temporary paralysis before she has to finish the hand. Now Aurora's only friends are groupies of the undead and the only boy she can think about may very well be a vampire. And if he's a vampire, will she be forced to kill him?   AURORA SKY: VAMPIRE HUNTER is the first in a YA Mature/New Adult paranormal fantasy series.

A great start to the series!  And definitely like no other Vampire Hunter books.

Aurora is signed up to a government section in return for saving her life after a lethal car crash.  In fact, her mum signed her up for it.

Aurora is NOT happy. She just wanted a normal life, to graduate and to attend Notre Dame Uni and get the heck out of Alaska!

Now she cant.  She cant move out of Alaska.  Shes stuck and has a little rebel against it.  The mysterious Fane suddenly appeals to her.....not sure why.....but all is revealed....and no matter what she cannot help wanting to be with him.

She is introduced to the vampire world in many different ways.  In the government section she now has to obey, she is sent on assignments with new partner, Dante, she attends vampire house parties, she socialises with informants and vamps alike.
All because she has the rare blood type....shes sent in as a chew toy to stun the vamp before killing them...

Not what Aurora had envisioned in her future.....

Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter "Northern Bites" (Book 2)

Love Bites. Probation sucks. Thanks to Dante's recklessness, Aurora is now partners with Valerie: the redheaded, backstabbing vixen. Dante is in full flirt mode. Fane's tactics are more ruthless. Something carnal has awakened in Aurora and neither boy is helping tame her cravings. When a member of the unit's team is found dead, Aurora and Valerie are sent after a vampire in Sitka, but Aurora suspects the killer's much closer to home.

A good follow on to the first book.

Aurora is partnered up with Valerie (an informant and also Fane's ex girlfriend) who she REALLY does not get on with!

She has to transfer schools at the Unit's order, which sucks.  Although she does know just the one person, and she is an informant ( someone who "spies" on vamps and then tells the heads of the Unit).

When one of the bigger players in the Unit is discovered dead, it is up to 2 teams to try and figure out who did the deed....

Dante and Aurora are split up for this mission, and Val jokingly sends naughty texts to Dante on Aurora's phone....this makes Aurora somehow view Dante in a different light, but Fane is still around....

Looking forward to the next book released. A good easy read that's well written and just a pleasure to read!
