NOTD: Opi "Pink Of Hearts 2013" (Breast Cancer Awareness)

Carrying on with pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month, this OPI set was released purely for that cause.
This years colours is "Pink-ing of You" and a matte glitter called "More Than A Glimmer".

OPI have pledged to donate $25,000 to Susan G Komen (a foundation dedicated to research about causes, research treatments and to try and find a cure) and $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada.

I did a review on the 2012 edition of the Opi set for Pish Posh and Polish if you want to read it and see the difference you can see it here.

The main difference this year is the glitter is a matte finish rather than a sparkly and you also get little stickers of the Breast Cancer pink ribbon and little rhinestones you can stick on (not pictured as misplaced them....I swear I have pixies who come and move things around to drive me nuts!!)

So the pink. Looking at it it reminds me of strawberry milk. It's a very smooth and creamy pink and after 3 coats looked gorgeous just in its own, but when you have a set you have to use them both don't you!
The matte glitter..ill admit i was a bit dubious about it, but i was kinda floored about how pretty it was and even though its matte it does have its own little way of glittering.  Main colour is pink, of course, but also surrounded by others and its like nothing else i have!

I took some time to think what to do and decided on putting the matte glitter along the tips of my nails, so leaving plenty of the beautiful pink to see.

As an extra touch on the base of each nail I placed a small heart rhinestone which I thought made it look really cute and just added a bit more..i dunno, cuteness i guess!

Ive never actually done nails like that, with the tips a different colour and texture, but i think i like it!

This 2013 is on sale now at Nail Polish Direct for £15.99 with free delivery - an excellent price for a limited edition set, when you think each OPI bottle normally retails around £11 each!
The 2012 set I've seen on a certain auction site, so theres still a chance to find that one.  Opi has released one of these sets a year for the last 7 years, and i cant find any earlier ones to buy, so if you DO like them, i suggest to get them before they disappear from sale!!

As always, happy polishing everyone, id love to see any pink manicures supporting the awareness, so please feel free to leave a link to your mani and ill be popping over to have a good ogle!
