SOMEONE ELSE'S SKYE
Men of Brahm Hill, Book 1
Coming October 1, 2013
Kane,
Brethren Guardian and one of the few Natural Shape-Shifters left in existence,
survived the bloody battle of Brahm Hill but lost two of his closest friends.
For all of his good-natured sarcasm and eye-popping good looks, Kane finds
himself unable to completely forget about that night, so he seeks comfort in
the one thing he is truly good at . . . sex!
This
shape-shifting bad boy believes in having a good time—a very good time, usually
involving some mingled heavy breathing with a sexy Dhampir in a tiny closet
somewhere. But when he’s sent into the freezing tundra of the Northwest
Territories to investigate a troublesome supernatural being on the loose, he
ends up crossing paths with a woman who almost instantly drives him insane with
want . . . because she doesn’t seem to be falling for the shifter’s charms.
It’s
completely inexplicable.
Skye
Matthews has a job to do, and she needs to be focused on that, not spending all
her time rebuffing the advances of this way-too-cocky and handsome stranger.
Yet, there is something irresistible about this self-involved playboy that Skye
can’t seem to stay away from. And when the unidentified Kane is sent to
investigate takes an unnatural interest in her, protecting her becomes the
Guardian’s top priority.

And.........???
I actually liked this book! It was well written, the characters were likeable (or unlikeable, depending on the character), extremely steamy (you can feel Skye and Kane's want but denied it!), actually Laugh out loud in places, smiling at the way some things are written.
ok, so lets start with Kane.
Opening a book with a scene of a guy with a girl in a phone booth where he cant remembers her name - made me laugh! i should have thought "ooh you lowlife" but i couldn't! Everything about Kane is just so likeable. Hes the typical player, avoids commitments, lives by 10 rules (two main ones!) but is like the naughty boy where you cant help but forgive him and like him!
hes sent to....a very out of the way place after being caught in....uhhmm..several compromising situations with the staff once too many. The reason was that there was a "situation" that needed his expertise. Hes not impressed as you can imagine..what no women!??
So he and Aiden take the trip up to the middle of nowhere to help the "boys" out.
Turns out there IS something that needs to be figured out and taken care of urgently. Something that moves quicker than a vampire and disappears like a ghost. Not an easy task.
3 girls on "assignment" bump into Kane and his lot, and Kane takes it upon himself to take them back to the boys lodgings to try and keep them safe.
Wont say any more. But the outcome at the end, i have to say surprised me, but in a good way! its something I've never come across in paranormal books but i did enjoy reading.
Its been left open ( a mixture of "nooooo!! don't do that!" and "yaaaay back to visit the boys"....
ill be picking up the next book, and do hope that the writing stays the same, as it really does make a massive difference to reading a book!
Not much concentration needed, but not an easy book to put down as you can just keep turning the pages..!!
Enjoy!

I definitely will have to read this one! Thanks! :)
