What I'm Reading: "Instinct" by J.A. Garland **READ**

This is a book i wanted to read before i had the next one in the series lined up in my blog book tours ("Dysus Dreamer"), and i wanted to read it in the correct order.

Ms Garland was kind enough to provide this first book in the series in return for an honest review, which i am happy to do!

The Blurb for this book:

"Lone wolf, Rory Archer, never failed a single mission. Now the hunted instead of the hunter, Rory unwinds a twisted trail leading back to Amber Arlington, a spirited Halfling tied to a world of Shadows. Bound to vows initially forged out of necessity, Rory and Amber's relationship surges into more than either of them bargained for, tangling them in a web of passion. Scrambling to identify their attacker before joining the casualty list, Rory is faced with doing the unthinkable, or watching Amber turned into a slave for his species.

In the battle against Shadows, demons and all variety of monsters come out to fight. Can one wolf learn to trust in time to save them all?"

I'm not too far from finishing this now, so the review wont be too much longer - i left this post too late! I normally start them when i start the book, but got side tracked..!
anyway....its so far so good, so will let you know...!!

I wont lie and say this was a bit of a toughie to get into.  There were terms of people's status's that got a bit confusing - Shadows, Ghosts, Trackers, different levels of Vamps....

But the storyline, once you got to grips with the terms it was good!
The characters are likeable, written well and mixes of romance, friendship and rivalry.

Based around a werewolf called Rory, he stumbles into a mission which makes him a target to be "gotten rid of".  Trying to trace how someone is getting him in to this situation, we cross vamps, other weres and demons.

Its left with this story closed, but an epilogue that gives a hint of a total new story, with the same people being implimented.

It DID take me a while to read this, but this wasnt the book's fault, ive just been very tired, and as its the kind of book you have to have your memory and thinking in tact i couldnt pick it up very easily!

however, i have the next book "Dysus Dreamer" ready to be read, and that will be done soon!

I would recommend this if you're ready to remember and think about the story lines, love paranormal and the different ways its approached and are ready for a brand spanking new series!
