REVIEW: Too Faced Tinted BB Cream

Ive never been a great fan of foundation.

I guess it comes from when i was in school.
There was a girl who would come in everyday with foundation that turned her (otherwise pale face) bright orange.  And she never quite got the hang of blending it in with her neck, so it would just stop at her jaw line.
So it was pretty obvious.  Looking back the kindest thing would probably been to have told her, but how can you tell a teenage girl that? They'd either say you were lying or you were jealous or whatever, so everyone pretty much let her keep doing it day after day!

Its always stuck in my mind.  I know that foundations are totally different than from what was on the market 15 years ago, but i can never shake that girl from my head!

For years i wore tinted moisturiser, and it suited me fine, and i was happy with that.

Then BB creams came out, and i tried the L'Oreal BB Cream (in fair skin!) which is one of my favourites, and i hoping they don't phase it out with the release of their new (not so great for me) CC Creams.

I also bought a few from blog sales.  I loved getting the ones from the USA as chances of it being here were quite slim.
Ive only really started playing around with them in the last couple of months, and found one of my buys from...must be about 8 months ago, tucked in my drawer and i thought it try it.

Now, I LOVE it.  And I'm dreading the day it runs out as i need to find somewhere that sells it, not too expensive and hope they still do the same shade!!
The one i found was from Too Faced and its a Tinted BB Cream in "Vanilla Glow".  The link here shows it in the USA and its $34 for a 150ml tube, so not cheap! (ouch!). There are other shades, one lighter than the vanilla, the rest are darker.
So, i try to use it sparingly!

Luckily, you don't actually need alot of it to cover your face.
Literally one or two of these size squirts should cover it nicely!

Yes I'm pale, as the back of my hand shows! But this, although it looks darker, actually goes on to look lighter!  Remember that the amount I've got on my fingertip here would do half my face, sometimes more, so I've had to spread it quite alot on my hand to show how it does blend in.
The picture on the left shows it as its starting to be blended. The one on the right is blended in.

Its has like its name says a "glow" to it.  I find it really natural, my skin breathes easily. Its not heavy in the least and my concealer, powder, blush and whatever else i put on top of it sits on this comfortably.

when i come to take my make up off at night, the one thing i notice (apart from the obvious mascara!) is that this comes off with the cleansing.

the Blurb on the Link says about this:

Our innovative beauty balm offers multiple skincare and makeup benefits in one simple step. Our powerful, multi-mineral complex instantly achieves a healthy glow and improves skin's overall appearance.
1. Light-diffusing pigments tint and add radiance (available in 6 shades).
2. Anti-aging, multi-mineral complex primes & prevents damage.
3. Moisturizes with oil-free hydration.
4. Hypo-allergenic and soothing for all skin types.
5. Broad-spectrum, chemical-free SPF 20.

Hmm! Sounds good!

And it goes on to tell us yet MORE:

More To Love:
  • Anti-aging, Multi-mineral Complex: Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc as well as Ginseng and Ginko Biloba.
  • Soothes & Nourishes: Vitamins A & E, as well as Chamomile soothe and nourishes while our oil-free hydrating formula moisturizes.
  • Blends easily: Four gorgeous shades, with luminosity and effortless blendability to suit individual skin tones and shades needs.
  • Sun Protection: Broad-spectrum, chemical-free SPF 20 offers optimum protection from the sun's harmful UVA/UVB rays.
  • Multi-use: Can be used as a primer to prep skin for either foundation for more coverage, or powder for a lighter finish.

So, Is all what they say up there true?
I honestly couldn't tell you.
Yes it blends easily.
Yes it can be used as in multiple ways.
Cant tell you if its anti ageing or not though!

I think Ive made my view on this quite clear! I love it. I really do, and its the first one i go for when putting my make up on.
However, its not cheap.

I know the L'Oreal BB Cream is ALOT cheaper, and like i say its another of my favourites!  Unless i can find this for cheaper in the UK, I'll be going back to using L'Oreal, but ill always have an eye out for this one!
The shade suits my pale skin and makes it look healthy without it looking too dark.
It sits really nice on my face, its not greasy or heavy. In fact, I've actually just worn this on its own sometimes with some lip gloss, when I'm having a lazy day and cant be bothered with the whole make up phalava and just need something to make me look....more human! And not scare little children!

If anyone has one of these in Vanilla Glow and doesn't want it, I'm more than happy to offer it a new home, please get in touch!!

This is MY personal opinion. I'm not a make up artist, or a professional in the slightest (way far from it!). I'm not affiliated with Two Faced and this is a review of a product bought with my own little pennies, so no outside vested interest in me giving this a good review!

I would say, if you're not 100% maybe get a sample if you can, or buy a half full tube to test it, as its alot to fork out for if you find it doesn't suit you, and we all know that what suits one, doesn't suit another, so just make sure you're happy to part with your hard earned pennies on something you know you'll like!
