5.0 out of 5 stars An Epic Adventure you will not put down, By Christine Merritt
This review is from: The Order of the Black Swan COLLECTED TALES, Books 1-3 (Black Swan Anthology) (Kindle Edition)
“This series is written beautifully and with intelligence. Reading them together is the way to go - one story ends with the beginning of the next book picking right up where the last ended. I've read the three books separately MORE THAN ONCE. Having the three bundled together is brilliant.

I have rated the books in the series as they were published my number one read of 2012 and the best book I picked up in 2012. That is saying something, considering that my Kindle has over 900 books on it and I have read them all. The price is way too low for the three books - so consider it a bargain, read it and enjoy every moment. Whether you are a romance reader, a paranormal reader or contemporary chick lit reader, I promise this book will suck you right in from the first page.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance, vampires, werewolves - WOW, By Elizabeth Nix
This review is from: The Order of the Black Swan COLLECTED TALES, Books 1-3 (Black Swan Anthology) (Kindle Edition)
“While you can read these books as stand alones, this series is best read in order as they're the continuing story of one group of the people of the Black Swan unit. There's travel from other dimensions, a new outlook on vampires, elves, sexy warriors, romance, what more could you want? Each book is a bit different from the others as they deal with the lives and loves of these people and the trials they encounter. It's a great series by a new writer.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Series!!!, By Cynthia J
This review is from: The Order of the Black Swan COLLECTED TALES, Books 1-3 (Black Swan Anthology) (Kindle Edition)
“I received a complimentary copy off the series for review, and simply could not put it down! The story grips you from the first page, and keeps going non stop. The characters are well developed and she manages to seamlessly weave fantasy, sci fi drama and romance into a very good read. I found myself tearing up at times, laughing out loud at others. I highly, highly recommend this series, can't wait for the next!!”

My Familiar Stranger

This had been in my TBR pile for a while, and i'm not sure why i didnt pick it up sooner.....but i'm glad i did pick it up!

So the gist of this book is that there is a secret Unit of "soldiers" who fight against Vampire.  They are also in an alternate dimension.  They know this as our girl, Elora, is plunged through a vortex from her own world and catapulted into this world.  She should have died.  ALL of her body was affected...yet she didnt.  The hospital facility at the unit treated her.  it took her a few months to get 100%.

We follow the "B Team" - consisting of Ram, Storm and Kay.  Their fourth comrade sadly died in their last mission, so they have been given some time off.
Storm stays to care for Elora.

When the other 2 come back, they are shocked at Elora's recovery and Ram's body (an Elf) recognises her as his Mate.....but will Storm just step back and let Ram take over where he has been for the past few months?

Elora is also tested in all ways possible.  She is stronger, faster and better at martial arts than the majority of the knights...but there's never been a female Knight...can this be altered? There are some others who feel they deserve the position on the B Team (credited as being the cream of the units)....will they take it lying down to be overlooked by a female?

A great read, well written and great characters, I'm really hoping the next book carries on in the same way!

The Witch's Dream

i thought the first book of this series (my familiar stranger) was a great mix of paranormal events with a touch of romance.

This one is massively romance, sex and tension, and not so much of another storyline, sadly.

I do feel a little let down by this one.  Or maybe i was expecting more of a harder storyline, but this one covers the pregnancy of Ram and Elora, the huge event that is Kay and Katrina's massive wedding, and the emotional turmoil that Storm is still feeling after being 'passed over' for Ram by Elora.

There is a small storyline about a werewolf that needs to be "dealt with" but, its a bit lack lustre.  The werewolf comes along easily, no fighting, and happy for the Order to find him a pack to join.  That was it.

Storm features strongly due to him still mourning what he viewed as a loss of a wife in Elora, but then he meets witch Lilath.  These two have an instant connection but the first thing Storm blurts out is "I'm not interested in a relationship".  Lilath is a sassy, no nonsense woman, and it takes Storm a long time to realise that what he feels for her, is completely different than what he felt for Elora.....more passion.....

I'm a little worried about how the last book will pan out.  I've actually decided to take a break before i read it, and I'm hoping that when i pick it up, there's a bit more in the book than romance...
(Sorry Ms Danann - i loved the first book and the action that it entailed and would have loved to see it continue)
