NOTD: Zoya Pixie Dust "Nyx"

Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish Collection

Infused with magic and wonder! The latest "must-have" nail polish finish - textured, matte and sparkling! This newly developed formula is sure to captivate with a magical sparkle and sugary finish like no other. The colour experts at Zoya have created six, long-wearing stunners for the introduction of this enchanting look.

I love Zoya.  I love Blue. I love Glitter......seeing this i was in heaven! And it didn't take much persuading from fellow Nail polish addicts for me to buy it....and I'm really glad i did!

Having said that, i didn't read the "how to put this gorgeous nail polish on" and like i normally do, i put a base coat and a top coat on....but according to their site it should be done as thus:

IMPORTANT PixieDust Application Information -  Do not use a base coat or top coat. Apply 1-3 (for full coverage) thin coats of polish. Allow product to dry down completely matte in between layers for full textured effect. The PixieDust textured formula may take up to 10 minutes to dry completely matte. Once dry, the textured finish is long lasting, matte and ultra-glittery!

Oops!
Having said that, i don't think they came out too badly, and the top coat added extra shimmer, even on my short nails!
I did just two coats of the actual polish and 3 days later its still very much on with only one nail slightly chipped!

As with all Zoyas, it went on smoothly, coverage was excellent, and it didn't take too long to dry between applications. I only applied two, which i think was enough to show the colour to its potential, but it does say you can add 3 coats, and anyone who uses nail polish can tell you that the number of coats can make a big difference in some polishes from being a touch of glitter in 1 coat, to being a full covered nail after 3 coats, so out of curiosity, i will try a 3 coat on this one.

Whats even more exciting is that Zoya are releasing more colours into the Pixie Dust range in April 2013 called the Summer Editions...(original!!)

Check out the new droolsome colours being released....

I think it would be safe to say that "Stevie" is straight into my wishlist, closely followed by "MIranda"
Sadly though, the release date is for the USA, so as to when they will be readily available in the UK, i don't really know, but would love to!
They're going to cost $9 USD which is a great price for Zoya, and again, chances are because we're in the good ole UK, the price will increase just for us....

But if they're going to be as good as the gorgeous Nyx i tried here, i definitely will be happy to wait for them to arrive....!

Have you tried the Pixie Dusts? What do you think?

Textured nail polish definitely seems to be the way forward in 2013. Opi released their Liquid Sand, and Nails Inc have released their concrete range among others.
From peoples reactions i tend to call it a bit like the Marmite reaction -you either love them, or you hate them. There doesn't seem to be an in between.

Me? I really love them!!
