NOTD: Leighton Denny "Meteor Match"

stock photo

This colour has been on my list for ages, and when i saw that Bath & Unwind had an offer on, i figured now was my time to buy!  The offer (at time of writing) is still on.  You can get it for a fantastic £8.80 with free delivery -who can turn that down!!

So, Leighton Denny "Meteor Match".  This was part of a collection called the Atmospheric Trio that was released in the Autumn/Winter of 2011.
The colour is described as "Shimmering pale marine injected with glitter" and that's pretty accurate!

Its hard to capture the true colour of this polish on camera.  As id only ever seen swatches of it, i wasn't expecting it to have the amount of colour and sparkle that different lighting reflects in it.  But i have tried!

Looking at the bottle, i tried to capture its colour I'm not sure if i succeeded, but two shots of it:

I'm hoping you can see the depth of the colour, the added glittery and shimmer to it. Hold it in different angles and it shows a slightly different colour, but always lovely.

Onto the application....

As always base coat is used. I do tend to switch alot between my base coats, so this time i was using the Mavala Base coat.  The mini bottle to the left, i add to the tips of my nails to help harden them, and (hopefully) grow longer, as I've not had long nails in a long while!!

I found this needed 3 coats to get a good colour and coverage and show the true fabulous-ness of it!! coat.  As you can see quite transparent, but obvious colour...

...two coats. Colour is now covering the nail well but not as much depth as the next one....

and the third coat.  Much better! Great coverage and lovely shimmer!

As always a top coat to protect and add that extra little gloss (this time using Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat) and a drop or two of Opi's Drip Dry (as i always tend to want to do things as soon as I've polished my nails and end up ruining them!).

I'm really pleased with the colour and coverage of this one.  Ive only recently started getting a couple of Leighton Denny polishes, and if truth be told this is the only one I've tried on my nails. Ive swatched a couple on a plastic nail wheel, and felt a bit disappointed by the colour, but this one is definitely a keeper and not going anywhere!!

  1. I don't have this one Claire but I have seen some fab swatches where this as been used over the top of other colours, it makes a great cocktailer!!

  2. That is a lovely colour xx
