Darynda Jones - Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet (Charley Davidson Series #4) **READ**

So, you might have noticed, i have some other series I'm reading (in particular the House of Night series)....but...i got a bit bored (which i sometimes do, especially if the series is quite long and the book I'm reading isn't quite holding my attention at that moment) and i found out that some of the series i love have released a new book which i HAVE to read NOW!!

So i picked up the latest in the Charley Davidson Series by Darynda Jones called "Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet".
I'm not sure how much info to put into this one as obviously, its the fourth book in the series, and if you haven't read any of them, i don't want to give too much away.

I would recommend this series if you enjoyed Kim Harrison's "The Hollows", any of Karen Chance's series, Keri Arthur too is a similar author as is Ilona Andrews".
So the main blurb that can explain a little of the series can be said is thus:
Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to 'go into the light.' But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

...an exciting newcomer to the world of paranormal romantic suspense.

I picked up the first book early last year as it sounded interesting -"First Grave on The Right".....it was...so i carried on....!  At this time i didn't know it was going to be a series, i thought it was a one off novel, so i was pleased to see her carrying on with Charley.

Ms Jones is a fantastic writer.  She reels you in and have you turning page after page. Yes its paranormal, and Charley is basically the "grim reaper" /Private Investigator (with her obvious knack of seeing the dead she helps the Police solve crimes which otherwise would have been left unfinished).
Her writing really does flow, and with you page turning, you'll find you want to know more about Charley, more about this "entity", which we later call Reyes and has a story of his own,  and you actually find yourself laughing out loud (which alot of paranormal romances cant quite capture -its alot to try and cram into a book -mystery, suspense, paranormal, romance, comedy, so its good to find these books!).

I have literally just started this last night, and I'm hoping it will be as good as the first three..but will keep you posted.

If you wish to keep an eye out for the series the books are called:

There is also a novella to incorporate into the series called "For I Have Sinned" which supposed to be read between books one and two (which i haven't read yet!)

If you haven't heard of, or haven't read any of Darynda Jones, if you like the paranormal romance (as i do), this is a perfect series for you!

As always,
Happy Reading!

4th April 2013

After insomnia hit me firmly and squarely last night, i managed to finish this book :)

I love Ms Jones writing and i love the characters.

This was an ok book.  it wasnt as gripping as the previous ones and felt a little like a filler book -alot of things were addressed/ approached/rectified....so it feels like the next book is going to be something more gripping.

When i say this was ok, it was a good book. It made us see more of Charley and her getting over the incidents of the last book.
It was great to finally have the "will-they-wont-they" finally happen between her and Reyes, although i would hate for it to now alter their sparky relationship...i felt Charleys frustration through Ms jones writing -well approached steamy scene wiht not too much "50 Shades" (thank god).

I look forward to the next one, it holds alot of promise....i hope it fulfills!
